mjunction to organise Indian Steel Markets Conference

| @indiablooms | Feb 24, 2021, at 02:25 am

Mumbai/IBNS: mjunction services limited, India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, will organise the Indian Steel Markets Conference (ISMC 2021) on February 25 and 26, 2021, on the theme “Indian Steel: Realigning to New Normal”.

As the Indian steel sector realigns itself in the wake of the global pandemic, it has also been a period of innovation and transformation for the industry. The conference will seek to capture the essence of these broad-based changes and explore the opportunities and challenges they usher in.

mjunction MD Vinaya Varma said, "The bold moves undertaken by the Ministry of Steel and industry to promote steel usage and generate demand from different sectors of the economy have opened numerous opportunities – new demand patterns, innovative sales channels via digital mode, valued added products and many more.

"In this context, the Indian Steel Markets Conference will provide a platform for the policymakers, industry and other stakeholders to take forward the present and upcoming issues of the steel sector.”

The Union Budget for 2021-2022 placed in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman focused on capital expenditure with generous increase in outlays for key sectors like defence services, railway, and road, transport and highways would not only ensure that growth comes back but would provide impetus to steel consumption.

The conference expects participation from Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Steel, Ms. Soma Mondal, Chairman, SAIL, Mr. V R Sharma, MD, JSPL, Mr. Dilip Oommen, Chief Executive Officer, ArcelorMittal & Nippon Steel India and Mr. Sumit Deb, CMD, NMDC.

The session will also try to look at factors driving prices and try to find whether the current good times for the sector would sustain during the rest of the year. Digitalization of the steel supply chain and emerging importance of e-markets in driving sales would also be covered in depth.

There would be a dedicated session on steel scrap, which is increasingly being used as a source of environment-friendly raw material for steel making.
