Ola, Andhra Bank partner to install mobile ATMs at 104th Indian Science Congress
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by over 10,000 scientists and participants from across the globe, the ongoing five day event, was kick started on Jan 3.
The ATMs helped with providing hassle-free service pertaining to the cash needs of these scientists and other attendees. The Indian Science Congress is an annual conference cum exhibition held towards advancing and promoting the cause of science in India.
This year, the Indian Science Congress is being attended by 9 Nobel Laureates, 200 scientists and 18,000 participants from countries across the world.
In a city like Tirupathi where cashless payments are conducted in relatively smaller proportions, it becomes important for people attending the event to be provided with an easy, seamless cash withdrawal service. Recognizing this, Ola has stationed its cars with Andhra Bank ATMs installed to address these needs.
Piyush Surana, Director - Operations at Ola said, “Post the government’s demonetisation initiative, it is necessary that banking and mobility sectors come together to help our customers overcome the cash crunch across the country. When it comes to people from outside the country visiting, they may not be as adept at dealing with the current cash climate in India. In order to aid the attendees of the Indian Science Congress, we are happy to have partnered with Andhra Bank to help them perform their cash withdrawals in the most efficient way possible. During the course of the five day event, the ATMs is expected to service the cash needs of over 10,000 people.”
Krishnamurthy Varanasi, DGM, Andhra Bank, Tirupati said, “It’s heartening to partner with Ola at such an important conference, where thousands of visitors and dignitaries participate from across the world. Ola has proven a great support and together, we are confident of serving the liquid cash needs of the participants during their stay in the city for the Indian Science Congress.”
