Petrol,diesel prices slashed

New Delhi, July 15 (IBNS) Giving relief to consumers, petrol and diesel prices were reduced on Friday, officials said.

The new prices will come to effect from midnight tonight.

While petrol will become cheaper by Rs 2.25 a litre, diesel price was slashed by Rs. 0.42 a litre.

"Decrease in Retail Selling Price of Petrol by Rs. 2.25/litre at Delhi (including State levies) with corresponding price revision in other States. With this change, the price of Petrol in Delhi will become Rs. 62.51/litre," read a statement issued by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

"Decrease in Retail Selling Price of Diesel by Rs. 0.42/litre at Delhi (including State levies) with corresponding price revision in other States. With this change, the price of Diesel in Delhi will become Rs. 54.28/litre," it said.
