Rupee ends firm at 70.98 against USD

Mumbai, Feb 25 (UNI) The Rupee on Monday rallied further by 16 paise to 70.98 on brisk selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at Forex Market said.

The local unit moved up by 16 paise to 70.98 in early trade.During the day, the domestic unit registered days high and low at 71.08 and 70.96 respectively, finally it closed positive at opening level only at 70.98, up by 16 paise from its last close.

Weak dollar against some other currencies and rebounding equity market kept the indian currency up, they added.
