Sensex crashes over 800 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday crashed 829.33 points, to move below 60K to 59,393.82 as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty too dropped 235.30 points to 17,689.95.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 59,781.86 and 59,300.18 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the day's high and low at 17,797.95 and 17,661.75 points respectively.

The Mid Cap fell 0.58 per cent and Small Cap by 0.28 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 28 declined while 2 advanced.

The losers were HDFC by 2.04 per cent to Rs 2618.35, Kotak Bank by 1.98 per cent to Rs 1883.55, HDFC Bank by 1.95 per cent to Rs 1534.10, Infosys by 1.94 per cent to Rs 1809.25 and HCL Technology by 1.93 per cent to Rs 1286.15.

The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 0.86 per cent to Rs 706.05 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.54 per cent to Rs 7819.20.
