Sensex gains 165.32 pts at closing

The BSE Sensex on Tuesday went up 165.32 pts to close at 73,667.96 as buying was seen in IT, Telecom Services and Technology stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 3.05 pts at 22,355.70

The Sensex opened at 73516.45, rising 12 pts. It was rallied 502 pts at 74004.16, days high before closing at 73667.96, gaining 165.32 pts from its previous close.

It was slipped 160 pts at 73,342.13 days low.

The stocks that remained positive were Technology by 0.61 pc, Telecommunication Services by 0.46 pc and IT by 0.45 pc.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,452.55 and 22,256 pts respectively.

In 30 scrips, 8 advanced, while 22 declined.

The gainers were HDFC bank by 2.26 pc to Rs 1459.25, TCS by 1.78 pc to Rs 4194.80, Maruti Suzuki by 0.92 pc to Rs 11497.65 and Infosys by 0.88 pc to Rs 1613.50.

The losers were SBI by 1.89 pc to Rs 758.90, ITC by 1.76 pc to Rs 402.20, JSW Steel by 1.65 pc to Rs 815.70 and NTPC by 1.18 pc to Rs 343.70.
