Sensex, Nifty open in red

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE benchmark index, the Sensex and the NSE Nifty opened in red on Wednesday.

At opening trades, Sensex was down 429.11 or 0.70 percent at 60,005.4. Nifty 50 too was down 107.45 points or 0.59 per cent at 17,936.65.

Snapping its winning streak, the Sensex and Nifty 50 had closed in red territory on Tuesday.

While BSE Sensex had closed at 60,433.45, down 112.16 points or 0.19 per cent, Nifty at 18,044.25, down 24.30 points or 0.13 per cent.
