Sensex up 260 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday spurted 260 pts at 63,587.70 in opening trade as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too rose 57.75 pts at 18,874.45.

The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 63,587.70 and 63,355.95 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 18,875.90 and 18,808.60 respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 1.01 pc and small Cap by 0.78 pc respectively.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced and 9 declined while one remained unchanged.

The gainers were Powergrid by 1.57 pc to Rs 252.85, L& T by 1.16 pc to Rs 2409.90, HDFC Bank by 0.91 pc to Rs 1623, Wipro by 0.90 pc to Rs 386 and Hind Unilever by 0.87 pc to Rs 2699.30.

The losers were Tata Steel by 0.61 pc to Rs 113.60, Sun Pharma by 0.51 pc to Rs 986.60, Tata Motors by 0.47 pc to Rs 580.55 and Asian Paints by 0.28 pc to Rs 3309.
