Sony announces festive offers for Durga Puja
The brand that has withstood the test of time and even remained a popular choice with new names coming up every day, has grown from a 20 percent growth from last year, to a staggering 30 percent growth this year, nationally, according to Satish Padmanabhan, Sales Head of Sony India.
“Kolkata and West Bengal holds a very special place in our hearts for the simple reason that the state is one where Sony has the strongest brand value and the market shares have always been high. There is absolute dominance here,” said Padmanabhan.
While the market has grown over 35 percent over the last few months in India, West Bengal alone has grown over 60 percent, said an official.
Kenichiro Hibi, managing director of Sony India, said: “The year has been very memorable for us and we are looking forward to the upcoming events and plans.”
According to Padmanabhan, as far as picture quality is concerned, "we have launched the 4K HDR technology, which is a buzzword at the moment and is completely revolutionary while for sound quality too, Sony continues to be the best."
According to Padmanabhan,”In terms of design, we have launched what is called the slice of living concept. Keeping in mind that most people display their televisions in the living room, we have kept in mind the importance of the television’s design and the fact that it should complement other objects in the room. This was our inspiration for the design to be clutter free and clean.”
Speaking on the concept of user experience, Padmanabhan elaborated, “Last year we took India by storm by launching the Android platform TV which was a phenomenal success and this year we have enhanced the concept further by making it more accessible and user friendly.”
“In terms of the Puja specials, I am very proud to say that we have a very strong line up planned ahead”, added Padmanabhan.
“This year we have planned to grow the panel business by 40 percent only for the festive season and our promotional strategy is to be as local and close to people’s hearts as possible and we will be spending 18 crores only on promotions for the Puja Season”, he said.
Padmanabhan said Sony customers have a lot more to expect this festive season too, starting from exclusive offers and packages for every Bravia consumer, from USB devices to playstations to sound devices.
“We are also offering an additional year’s warranty to the consumers, during this festive season”, said Padmanabhan.
“The home theatre and sound bar category is also huge and we have launched a new stylized 5.1 channel home theatre system especially for the festivities ahead.”
“Bengal has always been a very strong market for us, and with the festive season, we aim to be stronger as a brand.”
“Our USP has not changed in the last 50-60 years, and that is simply the quality and the experience that is given to the consumers which we give a lot of importance to”, concluded Padmanabhan.
