Kolkata/IBNS: Shillong headquartered hospitality brand Polo Towers Group announced the appointment of Soumen Halder as the General Manager of their Kolkata-based Polo Floatel.

The group had earlier acquired the floating hotel, which is a popular feature along the Hooghly bank of Kolkata, and renamed it as the Polo Floatel.

The hotel features 58 rooms, 12 banquet and conference venues, and the Bridge Bistro & Bar, with wide views of the river bookended by the Howrah Bridge on one side and the Vidyasagar Setu on the other.

A hotel management graduate from Jamshedpur’s Regional Institute of Hotel Management (RIHM), Soumen Halder has worked for leading hotel chains, such as Taj and Accor.

Prior to joining Polo Floatel, he was the Director of Operations at Vedic Village Spa Resort, Kolkata.

Halder enjoys listening to music and watching movies and is passionate about cricket.
