Vikram Solar wins 'Solar Module Exporter of the Year' Award at Global Solar EPC Summit

Kolkata/ New Delhi, June 8 (IBNS): Vikram Solar, Kolkata based solar PV module manufacturer and EPC solutions provider, has been awarded the 'Solar Module Exporter of the Year' Award at Global Solar EPC Summit.

The event witnessed organizations across India showcasing their best projects and equipment. This was the 5th edition and second successive awards ceremonial year of the Global Solar EPC Summit.

“Vikram Solar is proud to be recognized as the Best Solar Module Exporter. Our manufacturing capability for high-reliability solar PV modules makes us the preferred supplier across many countries. 40% of our sales in FY 2014-15 were in export markets and we are expecting it to exceed 60% this year. Today, our country is witnessing excellence in manufacturing, and the responsibility to drive this message in the global solar fraternity lies with us,” said Gyanesh Chaudhary, CEO and Managing Director, Vikram Solar.

Vikram Solar exported a total of 40% of its total production this year to countries like Germany, UK, USA and the MENA region.

The company’s current annual PV module production capacity of 150 MW is being upgraded to reach the 500 MW mark by the end of this year and will be further expanded to 1.2 gigawatts (GW) by 2018.

The company’s manufacturing plant located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Falta, West Bengal, India, is well-equipped with some of the most advanced technologies from Germany, Switzerland, US and Japan.
