5.5 earthquake hits Japan

Tokyo, Dec 31 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit close to Japan's east coast on Saturday, officials said.

As per the US Geological Survey website,the epicentre of the quake located at latitude  37.397 degrees north and longtitude 141.410 degrees east.

No casualty has been reported so far.
