5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Japan, no casualty
Tokyo, Oct 5 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale hit Japan's northernmost Hokkaido prefecture on Friday, as per the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The tremor was felt at 8:58 a.m. local time.
As per the agency, the epicentre of the quake was located at a latitude of 42.6 degrees north and a longitude of 142.0 degrees east at a depth of 30 km .
"This earthquake poses no tsunami risk," read the Japan Meteorological Agency website.
No casualty has been reported so far.
