The epicentre of the quake was North East Delhi.

Many people rushed out of their houses following the tremor.

The tremor was felt across Delhi NCR and in some northern states.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said he hopes that people in the national capital remained 'safe'.

"Tremors felt in Delhi. Hope everyone is safe. I pray for the safety of each one of you," he tweeted.
