Maggi noodle tests safe in designated laboratories: Nestle says

India Blooms News service | | 16 Oct 2015, 02:48 pm
Mumbai, Oct 16 (IBNS) Popular noodle brand Maggi has tested safe at three labs after Bombay High Court's mandate for test of samples, manufacturers Nestle India said on Friday.

"All 90 samples, covering 6 variants, tested by these laboratories are clear with lead much below permissible limits," a press statement issued to the exchange said.

The company says that it has conducted over 3500 tests representing 200 million packs in both national as well as international accredited laboratories and all reports are clear.

The Nestle claim came a day after the top consumer court in New Delhi ordered tests on 13 samples of Maggi noodles from nine batches to determine lead and "MSG stock glutamate" content. The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) decision was questioned by the company, which said they were not required after a similar order by the Bombay High Court.
