MIAL organises two-day free eye checkup & spectacle distribution camp for airport cabbies

Mumbai, June 29 (IBNS): GVK MIAL, the company that administers Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), on Thursday commenced a two-day free eye screening and spectacle distribution camp for airport taxi drivers.

MIAL is holding this camp on Thursday and Friday, offering taxi drivers plying to the airport a free consultation on their eyesight.

When a random test of eyesight revealed that most of the taxi drivers faced problems of weak eyesight, MIAL, in association with Essilor, decided to conduct this camp as a CSR activity, to ensure that drivers with improper vision, and those in need of glasses are able to drive safely.

Taxi drivers were addressed on the importance of vision correction – a crucial aspect of health, especially in a profession that relies on good eyesight.

With the prospect of rough weather nearing with the onset of the monsoon, the camp reiterated the importance of good eyesight which is required for safe driving.

The camp was very well-received by taxi drivers, who were not only provided with a full eye examination but also corrective spectacles. Within the initial 2 hours of the first day, more than 200 taxi drivers had participated.
