Zimbabwe reports 7 new COVID-19 cases as tally rises to 63

Harare/Xinhua/UNI: Zimbabwe on Wednesday announced the discovery of seven new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 63 in the country.

The new cases constitute the country's biggest number to be recorded in a single day since the onset of the pandemic in March.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care said in a statement Wednesday that the seven patients, who tested positive to the virus Tuesday, are Zimbabwean returnees from South Africa who are quarantined in Beitbridge.

A total of 25 people have recovered from the virus while deaths remain at four.

The country has so far done 38, 352 tests for COVID-19.
