COVID-19 scare: Delhi's tally jumps to 19844 cases after highest ever single day spike of 1295

New Delhi/UNI: After registering the highest ever single day spike, this time with 1295 fresh infections, Delhi's COVID tally has jumped to 19,844 on Sunday, according to the state health department update.

The fatalities due to the pandemic in the National Capital have now reached 473, after 57 deaths were reported on Saturday, as per government data.

At present there are a total of 10893 active cases in the city, while 208 are admitted to the ICUs and 43 are fighting against the disease with ventilator support in the COVID dedicated hospitals here.

Dedicated COVID hospitals are presently housing 2586 patients.

There is an improvement on the recoveries front, with 416 patients defeating the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the cured and discharged cases figure now to 8478 till date.

There are a total of 5781 patients under home isolation in the city, the government's health bulletin said here.

So far, 212784 cumulative COVID tests have been conducted here, the government bulletin said.

Number of containment zones as on Sunday stand at 103 in the city.

The government is pulling up their socks in view of taking on the situation as further relaxations have been given in the fifth phase, lock down 5.0 beginning on Monday.
