India witnesses partial lunar eclipse on Monday
Kolkata, Aug 07 (IBNS) India on Monday night witnessed a partial lunar eclipse for two hours from 10-55 pm.
The eclipse was visible better from eastern part of India. Many in cities like Kolkata waited in their roofs to watch the spectacular celestial phenomenon.
A partial lunar eclipse is visible when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. Only part of the Moon's visible surface moves into the Earth's shadow.
