Madhya Pradesh: Another cheetah, which was brought to India from South Africa, dies
Sheopur: An approximately six-year-old male cheetah, which was named ‘Uday’, died at Kuno National Park on Sunday, making it the second such fatality over the recent past.
Confirming the incident, JS Chauhan – a senior Forest Department officer – told UNI, “This morning, it was reported that the carnivore suddenly took ill. Wildlife experts executed a medical examination. Treatment was initiated but the animal succumbed. The autopsy report is awaited.”
Last month, an approximately five-year-old female cheetah was claimed by renal infection.
On September 17, 2022; Prime Minister Narendra Modi released eight Namibian cheetahs into the Park.
In February, 12 South African ones were released and on March 29 four cubs were born.
