Guwahati/IBNS: A baby elephant, which was strayed out from an elephant herd, was rescued by villagers at Panbari area outskirts of Guwahati.

Some villagers spotted the baby elephant near the residential area at Garogaon on Tuesday and rescued the elephant calf.

Later, the villagers informed local forest officials and provided foods to the baby elephant.

Local villagers said that the baby elephant was strayed out from an elephant herd and entered into the residential area.
