6.4 earthquake hits Alaska, no casualty
Washington, Aug 13 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale hit a remote part of Alaska on Sunday, as per US Geological Survey.
According to the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Alaska Earthquake Center, no casualty has been reported due to the earthquake.
"Quick update on the human impacts. We have no reports of damage or injuries. Alyeska reports no impacts to the pipeline. We have felt reports from Kaktovik, Deadhorse, Nuiqsut and even a few from Fairbanks, so this was felt across a very wide area," it tweeted.
Several strong aftershocks were reported following the first shock, as per USGS data and the earthquake center.
