Assam registers 2,595 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has registerd 2,595 fresh positive cases for COVID-19 in last 24 hours.

With the fresh cases, the state tally has now increased to 1,55,453.

Out of the new cases, 553 cases have been detected in Kamrup (Metro) district while 205 cases detected in Jorhat district, 199 cases in Lakhimpur district, 173 cases in Golaghat district.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “2595 #COVID cases detected today out of 35175 tests. Positivity Rate- 7.38%. Kamrup M- 553; Jorhat- 205; Lakhimpur- 199; Golaghat- 173."

On the other hand, eight more COVID-19 patients died due to the deadly virus infections in the state in the past 24 hours taking the state death toll to 548.

1,25,540 COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals in the state so far and the state has now 29362 active COVID-19 positive cases.
