Assam: Suspected food poisoning incident kills 3

Guwahati, Dec 9 (IBNS) : Food poisoning incident in Assam's Hojai district has left 3 women dead and two others ill, reports said.

The incident reportedly occurred due to food coming into contact with pesticides.

The incident took place at Katkatia Kohar village under Jamunamukh police station in  the middle Assam district on Thursday evening.

According to reports, five women were taken ill after allegedly consuming food at a paddy field and they were immediately admitted at Nagaon civil hospital.

Among them, a woman died at Nagaon civil hospital and others were rushed to Guwahati Medical College  Hospital (GMCH) while their conditions deteriorated.


On Friday morning, two women died at GMCH.
