COVID-19: 2,984 fresh cases in UP; active cases cross
Lucknow/UNI: With 2,712 fresh cases of Covid-19 being detected in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, the state's tally mounted to 63,742.
The death toll too touched 1,387 with 39 fresh fatalities in a day.
State Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayati Raj Manoj Kumar Singh and Industrial Development Commissioner (IDC) Alok Tandon in a joint statement here said that there are record 22,452 active cases in the state while the recovered patients were 39,903 including 2191 people, who were released from hospital today.
The officials said, yesterday 57,068 tests were conducted and now the total Covid tests in the state has reached another milestone of 17,62,416 so far.
Of the total tests, 3,242 were pool of 5 samples and 242 pools of 10 samples .
Presently around 1.87 lakh health teams have covered 1.34 crore houses in the state to screen over 6.86 crore people of their health in over 34,000 areas in the state.
They said a total of over 56,000 Covid help desk have been made in the state and they have detected over 81,000 people with symptoms.
Meanwhile, the officials said that today, the Chief Minister has fixed a target to cross one lakh tests a day by July 27 while special health team under senior officials being rushed to Kanpur ,Jhansi, Mirzapur and Varanasi.
The officials made it clear that Saturday and Sunday would be fully used for cleanness drive in urban and rural areas when all shops markets and businesses establishments would be shut.
Door to door surveillance in the Covid containment areas were underway.
