Covid-19 : Punjab reports 1,309 new cases, 18 deaths

Chandigarh/UNI: Punjab reported 1,309 new Covid-19 cases and 18 more fatalities on Thursday, raising the state's caseload to 1,93,345 and the death toll to 5,996.

The number of active cases of the fatal virus in Punjab increased to 10,069, according to a medical bulletin.

Among the fresh cases, 191 were reported from Jalandhar, 180 from Kapurthala, 152 from Ludhiana, 149 from SAS Nagar, 141 from SBS Nagar and 110 new cases were reported Patiala.

A total of 620 more patients were discharged from hospitals in Punjab after recovering from the infection, raising the number of cured
persons in the state to 1,77,280, it said.
