Covid-19: West Bengal registers 2,949 new cases, toll crosses 2,000-mark

Kolkata/IBNS: With 2,949 fresh infections and 51 more fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, West Bengal's Covid-19 tally on Saturday mounted to 92,615, including 25,486 active cases, 2,005 deaths and 65,124 discharges.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal Health and Family Welfare (WBHFW) department, in the last 24 hours, 2,064 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different health facilities across the state, though the recovery rate has dropped to 70.32 per cent from 70.33 per cent. 

Officials said that West Bengal had tested 10,79,657 samples till date with 25,148 tests conducted in 60 testing facilities across the state in the past 24 hours.

Presently, 2,802 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 27,374 people are under home surveillance in the state while 1,700 persons are in 106 government-run safe homes.
