Delhi: Cold morning with moderate fog, 5 flights diverted
New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) The national capital woke up to a cold morning with moderate fog on Tuesday with minimum temperature settling at 12 degrees C, a notch below season's average.
As per airport sources, five flights had to be diverted early morning due to affected visibility at the Delhi airport.
''Low Visibility Procedures implemented at 0631 hrs. 5 flight diversions so far. Primary reason cited is pilot non compliance for cat III B,'' airport authority source said.
CAT III B is an instrument landing system (ILS) that will help guide pilots to land during difficult visibility conditions.
Relative humidity was 89 per cent at 0830 hrs , as per the weatherman.
The sky is likely to be mainly clear during the day while strong surface winds will be present , the Met office said.
Maximum temperature will hover around 23 degrees C the Met official added.
Air quality improved a little and was under moderate category with an index value of 165 at 0900 hrs, as per the Central Pollution Control Board.
On Monday, the maximum temperature settled at 23.9 degrees C, three points below normal.
