New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Continuing with the downward trend in the fresh COVID-19cases, the city on Wednesday clocked a spike of 2,463 new cases, the state health bulletin said here.
The overall case tally of the city has now reached 5,99,575, the bulletin added.
The city recorded more recoveries than new cases in the past 24 hours, as 4177 patients defeated the virus, while city's total cured cases have now reached 5,69,216.
However, 50 more lives were claimed by the virus since Tuesday, pushing the city's death toll so far to 9,813.
Active caseload of the city has also come down by 1,764, and presently, the city houses 20,546 active cases of nCoV.
Patients under home isolation now stand at 12186, while the containment zones across the city stand at 6460.
Covid-19: 562 new cases in Thane
As many as 562 fresh cases of Corona were recorded in the past 24 hours pushing the tally to 2,34,347 in Thane district, an official at the district headquarters said on Thursday .
While death cases have touched 5,778 with an addition of 12 deaths on Wednesday, the recovery rate of the district was 94.69%(221899) mortality 2.85%(5778)and active patients were 2.85%(6670), he said.
Citywise local patients were as follows Thane 53001 , Kalyan , 55244 ,Mira Bhayander 24648 and Navi Mumbai 49289 .
Total deaths so far in these cities were Thane 1260, Kalyan 1075 , Mira Bhayander 765, and Navi Mumbai 1005.
An official from Palghar district stated that a total of positive cases in the district till date was 43,386 and deaths 1,164 he said.
