DR Congo: Ebola case confirmed in Goma
Goma, July 15 (IBNS): A case of Ebola has been reported from Goma city in DR Congo, officials said.
More than a milion people stay in the city from where the disease has been reported.
The health ministry confirmed that a pastor tested positive for the virus in a centre in Goma after arriving there by bus on Sunday, reported BBC.
Accordign to BBC report, the ministry says that risk of the disease spreading is low.

Meanwhile, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization,tweeted: "A case of #Ebola has been confirmed in the city of Goma, #DRC. While not welcome news, it is something we have long anticipated. We have been doing intensive work to prepare Goma so that any case is identified and responded to immediately."

Tedros posted another tweet where he said the Ebola Treatment Center in Goma, which is run by the DRC Ministry of Health and Doctors without Borders, is working since February.
Since Ebola outbreak was reported in DR Congo more than 1600 people have died, media reports said.
