Earthquake measuring 6.1 on Richter Scale hits Afghanistan, tremors felt in India, Pakistan

New Delhi/Kabul/Islamabad, Feb 2 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale hit Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan on Saturday as tremors were also felt in several parts of Pakistan and India, officials said.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department, the earthquake hit the region at around  5:34 pm.

The epicentre of the quake was located at north of Kabul city in Afghanistan.

The depth of it was 212 kms.

According to reports, mild tremors were reported from Delhi and some others north Indian cities.

In Delhi, people were seen rushing out of their homes when the tremors were felt in the evening.

As per Pakistan's Dawn newspaper, tremors rocked Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Kohat, Swat, Mianwali and Sargodha cities.

No casualty has been reported so far.
