Global COVID-19 death toll tops 400,000: Johns Hopkins University
Washington/UNI: The global COVID-19 death toll surpassed 400,000 on Sunday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
The university said that as on 11:25 GMT, the COVID-19 induced fatalities has reached reached 400,135.
The United States leads the world in terms of fatalities as 109,802 people have died due to the virus in that country, the United Kingdom comes in at number two with more than 40,000 deaths and Brazil is currently placed third where the death toll is approaching 36,000.
The university added that combined number of cases the world over has surpassed 6.9 million while the overall tally of recoveries has crossed three million.
