India records 15,981 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours
New Delhi: India, the nation which witnessed a deadly second wave of the pandemic, registered 15,981 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday.
During the same period, 166 people died due to the deadly virus.
The death toll due to the virus now stands at 451980.
Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.08 percent.
"17,861 recoveries in the last 24 hours increases Total Recoveries to 3,33,99,961," read a statement issued by the government.
Active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases.
It currently stands at 0.59 percent, which is lowest since March 2020.
India's Active caseload stands at 2,01,632.
