India records nearly 20,000 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs
New Delhi/IBNS: India recorded its biggest spike in the number of coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with 19,906 fresh infections, taking the total tally to 528,859, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday morning.
At least 410 COVID-19-related deaths were also recorded between Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The total death toll in the country jumped to touch 16,095.
As of Sunday morning, there are 2,03,051 active cases in the country while 3,09,713 patients have been cured or discharged or migrated, the Union Health Ministry stated in the health bulletin.

Maharashtra recorded over 5,000 cases for the second consecutive day on Sunday, taking the state's tally to 1,59,133. The state has reported 167 contagion related deaths so far.
Delhi is the second-worst hit with over 80,000 infections now. The total number of fatalities in the national capital has mounted to 2,558.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has enforced a complete lockdown every Sunday from July 5 to curb the spread of the virus.
No activity will be allowed on Sundays, except essential services, the state government has announced.
