Kashmir susceptible to the outbreak of diseases: Omar
“The situation in Kashmir is such that it takes a long time for the water to collect and it takes even longer for the water to go away. In such conditions threat of diseases is high,” the CM said.
He held a high-level meeting with officers of the civil and police administration on Monday to review the rescue, relief and rehabilitation drives in the flood-affected belts.
Stressing upon the need for adequate supplies of ration and medicines, the CM called for urgent steps to pump out the flood waters. Accordingly, heavy-duty pumps were installed to remove the water.
He also emphasized on the need for quickly disposing of carcasses. The Srinagar Municipal Corporation was directed to carry out necessary clean-up operations in the city.
