Maharashtra reports 2,922 new Covid cases in 24 hrs

Aurangabad/Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra recorded 2,922 new Covid-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said on Sunday.

With the new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,07,631 and the death toll is at 1,47,868.

Meanwhile, 1,392 cured patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 77,44,905.

The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.04 per cent and the fatality rate to 1.86 per cent.

Presently, 14,858 active patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 7 positive cases were reported from Latur district, 3 in Aurangabad, 2 in Osmanabad and 1 in Beed district while no new patient was reported from the rest of four districts of Marathwada region of state, the bulletin further added.
