More than 600 nurses leave Bengal, hosps struggle
New Delhi/Kolkata/UNI: India's battle against Coronavirus has received a severe jolt with more than 600 nurses resigning from Bengal hospitals and returning to their home states.
The Bengal BJP has asked the state administration to discuss the matter with the Centre to find a solution during the present trying time.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed the state chief secretary to contact the administrations of the states where the nurses were returning to find the exact cause.
The chief minister announced that primary health workers and also retired health personnel could be employed in hospitals to meet the emergency health situation.
The authorities of private hospitals, from where the nurses were leaving, have demanded interventions in this regard by the state government as well as the Centre.
