No Covaxin doses for 18-44 years in Delhi from tomorrow
New Delhi/IBNS: People between the age group of 18-44 years will not get Covaxin doses in Delhi from Thursday as there is no stock of the Bharat Biotech developed vaccine left in the national capital.
The government has urged the central government to ensure uninterrupted supplies of vaccines, adding that Covishield stocks will last nine days.
There are four days of Covaxin left to be administered on frontline workers and those above 45.
The shots are essential for those who received the first dose around four weeks ago.
Earlier, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has hit out at the Centre's vaccine management saying that Covaxin manufacturer Bharat Biotech has refused to supply the vaccine to the national capital.
Sisodia said Bharat Biotech has refused to supply the doses citing directives from the government and limited availability.
"Once again I would say exporting 6.6 crore doses was biggest mistake. We are forced to shut down 100 Covaxin-vaccination sites in 17 schools due to no supply," he wrote.

Sisodia said Delhi has asked for the supply of 1.34 crore doses, equal doses of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin and Serum Institute of India’s Covishield, to vaccinate the 18-44 age group.
Delhi entered the fourth week of lockdown on Monday, with stricter restrictions this time including the shutdown of the metro.
The national capital reported 13,287 new coronavirus cases and 300 more fatalities on Wednesday, while the positivity rate came down to 17 per cent.
India is currently reeling under the second wave of COVID-19 infections with around 3.5 lakh cases and 4,000 deaths being reported daily.
