Odisha registers 59 H3 N2 influenza virus cases in last two months

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported 59 positive cases of H3N2 influenza virus during January and February, Official sources here on Saturday said.

According to Regional Medical Research Centre(RMRC) Director Dr.Sanghamitra Pati the centre had received 225 samples of suspected influenza virus during January and February.

She said while conducting the typing of the influenza virus in the laboratory, it was found that a majority of 59 of them have H3N2 Influenza virus.

Dr.Pati said the concerned hospitals and health centres from where the samples were collected have been informed about the detection of the H3N2 influenza virus.
