Telangana registers 1,175 new COVID-19 cases, 10 fatalities today

Hyderabad/UNI: Telangana's cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 6,15,574 with 1,175 new confirmed infection cases recorded until 1730 hours on Tuesday.

After 10 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 3,586 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director Public Health and Family Welfare here.

As many as 1,771 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide as of Tuesday to take the overall number of recoveries to 5,95,348 constituting a recovery rate of 96.71 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.45 per cent.

The active cases in the state currently stand at 16,640, the bulletin said.

In all, 1,24,907 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 820 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, 1,77,70,083 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.
