With 1,093 new cases, Assam Covid-19 tally crosses 25,000-mark
Guwahati/IBNS: Assam on Tuesday crossed 25,000-mark in the number of positive cases for Covid-19 with the reporting of new 1,093 cases in the last 24 hours.
The state's Covid tally has now surged to 25,092.
Out of the new cases, 448 cases have been reported from Guwahati city alone.
Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam has registered 1,093 new positive cases for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 448 cases were detected in Guwahati city alone.
He further said that the state has also conducted more than 20,000 tests in the last 24 hours and the daily positivity rate is five percent.
Biswa Sarma tweeted, “1093 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam today with 448 cases from Guwahati City. With 20000 + tests carried out today, our daily positivity rate is only 5%. Total cases 25092, Active cases 7936, Deaths 58.”

On the other hand, 912 police personnel of the state have also tested positive for the deadly virus so far and out of which 531 patients have recovered.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) GP Singh tweeted, "912 personnel have tested positive till date out of whom 531 have recovered. We’ve unfortunately lost two colleagues till date. 884 Cops are under quarantine while 64 have rejoined duty."
