With 1165 new cases, COVID-19 tally in Assam surges to 31086, death toll mounts to 77

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has witnessed a sharp spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases as 1165 new positive cases for the deadly virus have been detected in the state in last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the state tally for COVID-19 has now surged to 31086.

Out of the new cases, 353 cases have been reported from Guwahati city and 100 cases from Golaghat district.

77 COVID-19 patients have died in the state so far.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “1165 new #COVID19 cases detected in Assam today, with 353 incidents recorded from Guwahati and 100 from Golaghat. Please follow precautions strictly. Total cases 31086, Recovered 21761, Active cases 9245, Deaths 77.”

On the other hand, the state has registered about 34 percent of the total cases in last 9 days.

Assam has so far reported 31086 positive cases for COVID-19 and out of which 10440 infections registered in the last 9 days.

1218 cases were detected in the state on July 17, 1117 cases on July 18, 1018 cases on July 19, 1093 cases on July 20, 1680 cases on July 21, 972 cases on July 22, 1047 cases on July 23, 1130 cases on July 24 and 1165 cases on July 25.
