PC Chandra Group unveils book of paintings by veteran actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay
Kolkata, Jan 15 (IBNS): That veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay can easily get into the skin of any role is common knowledge - but did you know that in real life too he as versatile as the roles he essayed?
We have known him as Apu, Amal, Ashim to Mayurbahan, Sitapati, Feluda to King Lear.
We have marveled at his performances on stage, at his elocution skills, and writings.
Now it is time to know about the painter Soumitra Chattopadhyay, thanks to P. C. Chandra Group, who recently unveiled a book of his paintings titled 'Chhobi O Chhaya'.
Chattopadhyay has also written the annotations for each paintings, giving expression to his thoughts behind each creation.
A lovely gift indeed for a person who will turn 85 on Saturday and who has enriched Bengali cinema and stage for well over six decades.

Veteran actor Madhabi Mukherjee, film critic Samik Bandopadhyay, National Award winning film director Atanu Ghosh and theater personality Sohini Sengupta, who were present at the launch, shared their experiences of working with the icon.
P.C. Chandra Group is celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of its founder late Purna Chandra Chandra in 2019.
The year-long celebration will be marked by various activities, including paying tribute to great personalities, the company said.
The book 'Chhobi O Chhaya' has been published by Dey’s Publishing with a foreword written by Shamik Bandopadhyay.
The book will also be available at the P.C. Chandra Stall in the upcoming Kolkata Book Fair.
