Musical biggies come together for percussionist Prodyut Mukherjee's tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Kolkata/IBNS: Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GIMA Winner), tabla exponent and composer Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee has released a special homage to Mahatma Gandhi on completion of 150 years of his birth anniversary on Oct 2 on digital platform.

The homage was released on YouTube channel of "Prodyut Mukherjee Rhythm Express" through Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's iconic song "Ekla Chalo Re" featuring stalwarts of the Indian music industry.

Grammy winner Padmabhusan Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt, Bhajan Samrat Padma Anup Jalota, Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar, Shaan, Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi noted actor singers from Bengal Saheb Chatterjee, Leena Bose,Geet, ace musicians like National Awardy Pt. Pravin Godkhindi (Flute), Kishore Sodha (Trumpet), Lokesh Anand (Shahnai), Sagar (Keyboard) and Pt Prodyut Mukherjee paid the homage.

The song was one of the most favourites of Gandhi ji.

The sound and music have been designed by Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee and the initiative has been conceptualized by Sudipta Chanda and Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee.

On the occasion, Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee says, "This musical extravaganza is a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on completion of his 150 th birth anniversary.

"This song is highly inspiring , has an inner power which helps to fight back all hurdles in life . It tells me to move on . We all musicians joined hand in hand to spread the massage through the ages to come."
