Nostalgia: A musical album of contemporary Ghazal by US-based Dr Susmita Datta
Florida (US)/IBNS: Listeners of the very niche genre of lyrical compositions, Ghazal, will be happy to know that it has not lost its appeal despite the advent of modern music.
These short and lyrical compositions, with love as the central theme, were developed in Arabia in the late 7th century and later reached great heights under Persian composers.
Interestingly, the genre attracts people from all walks of life, and Dr. Susmita Datta, a Professor of Biostatistics and scholar at the University of Florida, US, too could not deny the pull.
She recently launched her musical album titled ‘Nostalgia’, with the song 'Aap Mere Khayalon Mein' being released as a music video on her official YouTube channel.
The song has been arranged and mixed in India while the video and audio recordings as well as the final processing of the video have been completed in the United States.
All the songs of the album will be launched as individual music videos from Datta's YouTube channel and will also be available on all leading audio streaming platforms.
The second song 'Tum Chhupa Lo Mere Sanam' has also been released recently.
The last song awaiting release is 'Chaaho toh karo koshish'.
The lyrics have been composed by different poems while the music has been composed by Rajorshi Seal.
Happy with the reception of her songs, Dr Datta said, "There are more projects in the pipeline. Will release them one after the other from my channel. Would request all to listen to more of original compositions and support independent artistes.”
