International Performing Arts Festival to start from Mumbai this year; state governor to give away lifetime achievement award in Kolkata

Mumbai/IBNS: Well-known musician, Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee, will be the showstopper at the first leg of the International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF) Season 3 to be held in Mumbai, according to the organisation.

According to Shyam Pandey, founder & director, IPAF, “The organisation is creating a global network to provide a consistent platform to traditional art form artists and help them financially to live with dignity.”

“IPAF is already working in 25 states of India and adding five global cities this year," he said.

The first leg of the programme this year, will be held in Mumbai on June 10 and 11, and will showcase both classical music and dance as well as fusion music.

This will be IPAF’s third edition in Mumbai.

On June 10, GiMA award winner and a Grammy Awards  jury member, Pt Prodyut Mukherjee, along with his team Rhythm Express, will present a musical tribute to Indian freedom fighters.

This will be followed by a Bharatnatyam recital by Tushar Pramod Sawant.

On June 11, Arpana Rao and group will present a programme titled ‘Ritu’ (seasons) where the focus will be on the various seasonal festivals of India.

The second leg of the programme this year will be held in Kolkata on June 23 and 24 followed by the Delhi edition in July.

At the Kolkata edition, IPAF will launch its first Lifetime Achievement Award and Youth Icon Award, where the awards will be given away by West Bengal governor Dr C.V. Ananda Bose.

According to a release from IPAF, they have organized more than 200 festivals in the past seven years, across India.

IPAF even supported artists through the COVID-19 phase when they organized 30 paid online programs, the organisation said.

Recently, they provided financial assistance to 10 financially weak artists as well as to five non-governmental organisations who have been holding workshops on different art forms in India.
