A duet with Bhajan singer Anup Jalota is one of the highlights of santoor player Tarun Bhattacharya's US Fall tour
Kolkata/IBNS: Solo performances and collaborative programmes with other Indian artists will be the hallmark of Santoor player Tarun Bhattacharya’s Fall tour of the United States.
According to an announcement made by Bhattacharya, he will commence on his US tour from Virginia on September 1 this year, moving on to Nashville, Milwaukee, Austin, New Jersey, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
At Los Angeles, he will perform along with well-known Bhajan singer Padma Shri Anup Jalota.
On September 15, Bhattacharya there will be another duet presentation at New Jersey where he will be playing alongside Odissi Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya’s performance.
This is aimed at raising funds for children under the Support a Child initiative; the funds raised will go to support education of orphans and the underprivileged.
“I shall once again go back to Woodstock for a concert to support the cause for peace. Woodstock has always been an opportunity for people to escape into music and spread a message of unity and peace,” he said.
Bhattacharya’s tour shall also feature a program with his students of Santoor Ashram.
