Globsyn Skills, in association with RTI Cart 12, undertakes a CSR initiative

Kolkata, Jan 11 (IBNS) Globsyn Skills, a joint venture of the Globsyn Group in equity partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has recently undertaken an initiative with strong CSR connotations.

Globsyn Skills conducted a 25-hour training program in ‘Life and Work Skills’ for the second and third year BBA students of Ahsanullah Institute of Information & Communication Technology (AIICT) in Bangladesh on Dec 1 and 2, 2015. This programme was undertaken in association with Round Table India - Cart 12.

The training programs were carried out with a motive to engage, train and create jobs for these people. The students were provided training in C Programing, Welding, Mobile Repairing, DTH Installation and Basic Computing domains. They received free hands-on training in their respective domains, followed by certification.

AIICT is under the aegis of the Dhaka Ahsania Mission which seeks to spread globally relevant education among the underprivileged. Being sponsored by Globsyn Skills in association with Round Table India - Cart 12, the job-oriented, industry-aligned training in‘Life and Work Skills’ included Basic Computing and Microsoft Office suites, which are much sought after skills across sectors in all developing economies and should enable the 40+ trainees of the program to become employable in the organized sector.

The training was imparted by senior Globsyn faculty who are currently engaged in Bangladesh as subject matter experts to deliver skills training modules under Globsyn Skills’ Faculty Export Program.

On completion of the training program, the Director of AIICT, Syed Zia said, “I am glad that Globsyn Skills and Round Table India - 12 agreed to provide training to our students, who would benefit from the Basic Computing and MS Office skills, which are very important and essential in the corporate world. I would always welcome Globsyn Skills to provide more of such training to our students.”

Rahul Dasgupta, Managing Director, Globsyn Skills, while commenting on the CSR initiative, said, “Apart from providing skills training in IT, Globsyn Skills plans to offer training in various domains like Retail, Plumbing, Tourism & Hospitality, Beauty & Wellness, among others as part of our CSR mandate. We are looking at taking our skills training programs to several locations internationally through our Faculty Export Programs. Bangladesh and Middle East in this context figure quite prominently in our plans”.

Globsyn Skills has a mandate of training 300 students (270 from economically backward background and 30 people with disabilities) as CSR activity for the financial year. As part of this mandate, Globsyn Skills conducted this25-hourtraining program in ‘Life and Work Skills’ in Bangladesh recently. Since 2014, Globsyn Skills has provided training to underprivileged sections of the society in the districts of West Bengal and Odisha.
