TCS IT Wiz 2014 held in Kolkata
Kolkata, Aug 22 (IBNS): Over 1000 students from various schools in Kolkata participated in the TCS IT Wiz held at Kala Mandir Auditorium in Kolkata.
TCS IT Wiz, an IT Quiz event was organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm.
After riveting regional finals Shadan Kalam & Adnan Azmat from Kerala Samajam Model School, Jamshedpur school won the title.
The Regional champion this year walked away with an iPad air each along, while the runners-up represented by Anirban Paul & Mohammad Nafees from Loyola School, Jamshedpur school won an iPad mini each along with a specially designed trophy and medals.
The 6 finalists also received an array of prizes from TCS ranging from space pack, sippers, earphones, USB pen drive, speakers, and more.
The prizes were distributed by Ajoy Kumar Ray, Director of Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology and Ajoy Mukherjee, Executive vice president and Global Head, Human Resources, TCS.
The TCS IT WIZ has sought to bring a paradigm shift in the world of quizzing through a mix of intelligent and interesting questions as well as through the new technology concepts such as software based rounds, gamification and animation. This year, the platform has looked into the technological trends that are poised to have huge traction across the globe.
Students who are a part of this quiz would benefit from understanding these technologies as they walk into their future. TCS IT Wiz was open to High school students studying in class 8-12 (including Pre University of Junior college students). There was no entry fee.
An interactive Twitter contest was organised during the quiz to engage with the students in real-time as a part of social media outreach programme.
