MHT-CET Result: How it can help you get the Top College?

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education(DTE), Maharashtra for admissions into undergraduate medical, engineering and pharmacy degree courses offered by state colleges of Maharashtra. The exam enables top colleges and institutes in Maharashtra to recruit top talent and deserving scholars. It measures the skills needed to excel in their courses. Based on candidates’ performance, they get admission into the course and college of their choice through MHT-CET result.

MHT-CET is of 180 minutes duration divided into 3 papers of 60 minutes each. The exam has a total of 250 multiple choice questions from 4 subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics.

Counselling is conducted after the declaration of results. Candidates satisfying the required MHT-CET Cut off set by the participating institutes are eligible to participate in counselling procedure. MHT-CET 2017 counselling will commence from June 05, 2017. 

MHT CET Results: Details

MHT CET Results are declared online. It announces the secured scores of the participating applicants in the entrance examination. The actual score/rank of the applicant secured in MHT-CET examination is reflected in MHT CET Result. The details mentioned in the result must be checked properly for any discrepancies before downloading. You should keep a printed copy of MHT-CET Result for future use. If you meet the required scores decided by the colleges, you will be allowed to participate in the counselling session.

What to do after MHT CET Result?

DTE Maharashtra holds a centralized counselling process for MHT-CET after the results are declared. Seat Allottment is done though Computerized Allotment Process, to fill the following seats: Maharashtra State Candidature Seats, All India Candidature Seats, Minority Quota Seats and Supernumerary Seats for Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature.

Candidates must register themselves to participate in Central Admission Process. A new window will be launched for registration to facilitate registration process after the declaration of MHT-CET Result.

After registration candidates must fill an application form and deposit requisite fees of INR 800 (for general category), INR 600 (for SC/ST/OBC). INR 5000 (for PIO/NRI/OCI/Foreign Nationals).

Candidates appearing for JEE Main will be also allowed to participate in CAP for B.Tech admissions. These candidates must register themselves for CAP under All India Seats or Institutional Quota Seats (IQS).

Documents you'd need after MHT-CET Result

After registering for MHT-CET Counselling, candidates need to visit the Facilitation Centres (FC) in person for the verification of documents. The following documents in original along with a set of attested copies had to be brought for verification:

  • Class X and XII Standard Pass Certificate & Mark Sheet
  • MHT-CET Result
  • Character Certificate
  • Migration Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable) as per guidelines
  • School Leaving Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate of Maharashtra (if applicable)
  • MHT CET Admit Card.

Certificate verification is the most important step followed by MHT CET Counselling. All candidates are required to bring the original documents with 2 sets of photocopies at the time of verification.

How they offer Admission?

All the colleges listed above offer admission through centralized counselling process of MHT-CET, organized by DTE, Maharashtra. Admissions into the participating institutes of MHT-CET is done based on the merit of the applicant.

There is a total of 4 rounds of Counselling and Admission Process. Seats will be allotted by Computerized Allotment Process based on the choices filled by the candidates, the rank secured by the candidate in MHT-CET Results and availability of seats.

In case the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he/she can participate in the next round of MHT-CET Counselling instead of reporting and claiming the seat. Vacant seats would be considered for allotment in the subsequent rounds.
